My formal studies at Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne and my informal practice at Northcote Pottery Supplies cemented a real passion for ceramics for me. With over 8 years experience in the creative industry and 5 years teaching, I still enjoy learning about ceramics. I believe you can never stop learning, and as any ceramicist will tell you, clay as a medium has a real knack for pushing your boundaries, so I am continuously reflecting on my practice through my work and learning new techniques.
My studio is a creative outlet, a place to escape and enjoy the art of making. I am opening up my studio to others that want to learn the techniques of ceramics, to share the knowledge that was shared with me many years ago. The studio was converted from my home garage and is now a space for creativity. Sometimes the workshops are held at The Apartment by Sisalla in South Yarra. The Apartment is run by Melbourne boutique interior design and decoration practice duo, Lauren & Phillip Li. It’s an immersive space filled with furnishings and homewares presented within a home-like setting. Part showroom, part event space and part design studio, it’s easy to get excited and creative in a beautifully designed space.
I am available for private lessons and professional development for teachers in
The group lessons are small so that everyone gets one-on-one attention to learn at their own pace. The small group setting is a relaxed and enjoyable way to learn the basics of ceramics. I can also hold private lessons for individuals that focus on their specific needs.
