Beginners Wheel Throwing Workshop
Wheel throwing is shaping clay on a pottery wheel (yes, just like Ghost the movie). This beginners course, you will learn how to centre clay on the wheel and practice making shapes. At the end of your session, you will choose up to three items that you have made to be glazed and fired. No previous experience is necessary for the beginner’s session.
All materials, tools and firing is included, All materials, tools and firing is included, just bring yourself in some clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty (an apron and an old towel might be a good idea). Work will be ready for collection from the studio approximately 4 -6 weeks after the session.
In the studio, I accommodate for one or two students on the wheel at any one time. The lessons are small which means students can learn at their own pace. The small setting is a relaxed and enjoyable way to learn the basics of ceramics and I’ve found that the 1:1 and 1:2 is a great way of focusing your practice to get the most out of your session.
Workshops run near my studio in Thornbury and for 3 hours. I am pretty flexible with class times so we can make a date and time that suits us both. If you’d like to book a date, please email me here

Cancellations: Please double and triple check your dates as refunds cannot be given. If you cannot make it to the workshop please notify me 14 days before the workshop for a credit note. That way I have enough time to open up the spot for another person. Names on tickets can be transferred up to 3 days before the event. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
All care is taken with your work, but I cannot guarantee the outcome. While I endeavour to give you every opportunity to guide you to make your work, ceramics goes through many processes, many of which are out of my control. Buying a ticket to the workshops means that you understand these terms.
