Hand Building Workshop 17th March @ The Apartment by Sisalla
At The Apartment By Sisalla, South Yarra
Hand-building is the best way to learn about clay and how it works as a medium. This single session is hands-on and is aimed at beginners who have always wanted to learn about the ceramic process. This workshop will focus on hand building, including how to attach pieces together (like handles or feet) and use techniques and tools that allow for a professional finish. You will get the opportunity to make 2-3 pieces.
All materials, tools and firing is included, just bring yourself in some clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty (an apron and an old towel might be a good idea). Work will be glazed and ready for collection from my studio in Thornbury approximately 4-6 weeks after the session.
The Apartment is run by Melbourne boutique interior design and decoration practice duo, Lauren & Phillip Li. It’s an immersive space filled with furnishings and homewares presented within a home-like setting. Part showroom, part event space and part design studio, it’s easy to get excited and creative in a beautifully designed space.
The group lessons are small so that everyone gets the attention to learn at their own pace. The small group setting is a relaxed and enjoyable way to learn the basics of ceramics. Its also a great activity to do with a few of your friends!
March 17th, 12-2pm. Workshops run for 2 hours and will include a tasty snack and a cuppa

Cancellations: Please double and triple check your dates as refunds cannot be given. If you cannot make it to the workshop please notify me 14 days before the workshop for a credit note. That way I have enough time to open up the spot for another person. Names on tickets can be transferred up to 3 days before the event. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
All care is taken with your work, but I cannot guarantee the outcome. While I endeavour to give you every opportunity to guide you to make your work, ceramics goes through many processes, many of which are out of my control. Buying a ticket to the workshops means that you understand these terms.
