Slip Casting Workshop 19th January
Early Bird Special $160, for a limited time!
In the slip casting session you will learn how to make your own plaster mould. You will learn how to make a clay master to cast from, learn about the intricacies of mixing plaster, setting a one piece mould and how to de-mould the master. As the mould needs time to dry out - sometimes 4 weeks!! - you will have a chance to cast from a ready made one piece mould.
All materials, tools and firing is included, just bring yourself in some clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty (an apron and an old towel might be a good idea). Cast work will be ready for collection from the studio approximately 4-6 weeks after the session. It will be glazed for you after the first firing. However, the mould will be ready to take with you at the end of the day!
In the studio, I accommodate for small groups of three people. The group lessons are small so that everyone gets one-on-one attention to learn at their own pace. The small group setting is a relaxed and enjoyable way to learn the basics of ceramics. Its also a great activity for beginners and to do with a few of your friends!
Workshop runs from 1-4:30pm
Cancellations: Please double and triple check your dates as refunds cannot be given. If you cannot make it to the workshop please notify me 14 days before the workshop for a credit note. That way I have enough time to open up the spot for another person. Names on tickets can be transferred up to 3 days before the event. Please contact us on email@example.com for assistance.
All care is taken with your work, but I cannot guarantee the outcome. While I endeavour to give you every opportunity to guide you to make your work, ceramics goes through many processes, many of which are out of my control. Buying a ticket to the workshops means that you understand these terms.
